Social Justice: Students are exploring hunger in the United States and are creating a garden to help give back food they have grown to peers who suffer from hunger.
Service Learning:
2.Preparation/Planning - designing the garden and costs to build
3.Action - building and maintaining the garden
4.Reflection - Poster session to show why their garden design is best.
5.Demonstration - the growing plants and poster session
6.Evaluation - teacher will evaluate their posters
Service Learning:
- Students will investigate how to create an efficient garden at their school that will provide healthy ingredients for their disadvantaged peers. This is considered a direct and integrated service project.
